Day 40: Supporting Ryan Before He Ships Out

Prayer For Ryan At New Beginnings Church

Day 40 - Supporting Ryan Before He Ships Out

New Beginnings Church Friends

Ryan, that’s Ben’s brother, ships out for his basic training at Fort Jackson, SC on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Today General Sarge got all dressed up in his dress uniform as we went to New Beginnings Church in Rochester, New York so Ryan could receive special prayer before he ships out for 25 weeks. It was a great service and a great time of prayer as the Pastors and others from the congregation prayed for Ryan as he prepares to start his Army journey in the Reserves.

We’re close friends with the Cavalieri’s who are the Pastors of New Beginnings. Actually, we’re close friends with a number of people from the church and consider it an honor and privilege to visit with them often. As a result, it seemed very natural to have Pastors Jim and Jeannine pray for Ryan as he gets set to ship out in a few days.

We took this picture after service with Pastors Jim and Jeannine, along with General Sarge, Ryan and Ryan’s girlfriend Holly. General Sarge was quite pleased to pose for a number of pictures today!

General Sarge & Pastor Jim

I’m not sure if General Sarge was trying to get Pastor Jim to drop and give him 25 push ups here or not. But I do know he enjoyed his time at New Beginnings. General Sarge, along with Sandra and I, are grateful for wonderful church connections, friends and Pastors who are praying for both Ryan and Ben during these days.

  1. The support of the church is so important! We love our pastor and his wife too! I don’t know where I would be with out Nancy, his wife. She is a nurse and got me in with my OB for my 3 boys after a m/c, and she was there for me for the m/c. She also has been on call for late night panics, and even got to dress our middle son the first ever time, in the hospital! We have a special friendship with them! They also have 4 boys, although theirs are grown now.

    1. You are so right about church support. The Cavalieri’s are really special friends to us too. As Pastors we sometimes forget we need people to Pastor us too. We truly do appreciate the support of Pastors Jim & Jeannine and the entire New Beginnings church.
