Day 126: Frying Eggs on The Sidewalk

Frying Eggs On The Sidewalk – June 8, 2011

Wow! It’s another hot day today. Since it’s so hot outside we decided to stay inside. Probably a good thing too. General Sarge was wondering just how hot it really is outside so he decided to take a closer look at my little indoor/outdoor thermometer.

What does that temperature say? While my little Weather Bug add on for my iGoogle page says it’s 91 degrees outside you can see that the thermometer says 105 degrees! The sensor for the thermometer General Sarge is standing beside is outside our front window. It kind of lays up against the bricks of our place.

In other words, even though the air may be 91 degrees, the cement and brick is 105 up against our building! General Sarge really wanted to go outside and see if he could fry an egg on the sidewalk. But I told him that probably wasn’t a good idea. So, we set up a couple more fans and decided to try to stay cool inside.

  1. WOW! It hasn’t gotten over 85 or 86 out here! And that didn’t even FEEL hot! Hope you guys find a way to stay cool!

  2. (I should add that it’s been mostly in the 50’s & 60’s since we moved out here…at least I think so, anyway!)

    1. Hi Miss Trisha!

That sounds like a wonderful temperature! I have to admit with all my fur and stuffing this heat makes me feel even hotter. Maybe I can convince my human-owners dad to buy me a swimming pool.

      Two paws up!
