Day 135: Helping With Dishes

Helping With Dishes – June 27, 2011

It was a rather quiet and relaxing weekend around General Sarge HQ as both my human-owners Mom and his brother were working and away all weekend. That meant it was just me and my human-owners Dad home. I think he had plans of having Mom help with the dishes today, but that all changed rather rapidly.

What happened you ask? Well, she got called into work this afternoon again. That means it’s just me and Dad and of course Samson-The-Pup at home for the afternoon. All Samson does is sleep – but I hear that’s pretty much the only thing dogs do anyway. So he’s no help with the dishes and lets just say there are a lot piled up in the sink!

I decided to do what any good furry-friend would do. I helped out with the dishes. I know when my human-owner Ben was home he used to help Dad with the dishes all the time. So I figure it’s the least I can do. I don’t mind helping out with chores around the house. I am glad I found those cool rubber gloves to wear though. I wouldn’t want to end up with “dish-pan-paws” you know.

  1. Hey there General Sarge, I could certainly do with you helping me out with the dishes, Slappy Bear seems to do a runner when it’s washing up time πŸ˜‰

    1. Hi Karen;

      Hmmmm – that’s kind of a long trip for me. But I may be able to pull some strings and catch an Army flight your way. If I can’t make it I will have a little chat with Slappy Bear when he’s here and tell him he should help with the dishes. Maybe I’ll give him a few pair of my cool gloves too.

    1. Wow! Apparently there are a lot of people who need help doing the dishes. When I visit your house I’ll get your boys trained up in how to do the dishes. If they don’t do the dishes, I’ll make them drop and give me 20 push ups.

  2. I’m glad there’s a picture to prove this. It’s not often that you see a General doing the dishes. I just unloaded clean dishes from my dishwasher, but I think I’m going to put PFC Buddy to work tonight since I’m not feeling too well. πŸ˜‰

    1. Hey there Tracy;

      You better be careful how you pick on a General. Just because I’m doing dishes doesn’t mean I still can’t sign papers and have you transferred to say – Alaska – As for PFC Buddy, yes, put him to work. If he gives you any back talk tell him General Sarge says to drop and give you 20.

  3. That is a wonderful thing you did, helping out your hosts. This couple has so much going on right now, a few extra paw around the house must come in handy..

    1. Hi Janet;

      Yes I know the parents of my human-owner appreciate the help. As their kids move out, I don’t mind helping at all. I wonder if I’ll have more chores to do today.

  4. You can come over any time and help clean the glasses at the bar, General. A cute, furry dude like you should attract plenty of ladies to the bar. Which will attract plenty of men. Which will attract plenty of ka-ching!
