Radio Interview Day – January 31, 2011
Today was another big day in the life of General Sarge.
He did his first radio interview!
Well, okay, I did the interview, but you know what I mean. I tried to tell General Sarge it was radio, but he still insisted on wearing his dress uniform for the interview so he would look his best. He also insisted on listening in. I guess he wanted to make sure the host, Paul Varga from WSLP-FM in Lake Placid, NY, nor I, talked about any classified information.
Paul Varga – Apparently we did alright and General Sarge
gave us clearance for the interview.
Radio Interview Details
I first met Paul Varga on Twitter. As he watched the General Sarge pictures go from Flickr, to the the blog and now to his own domain, Paul contacted me and asked if I would like to do an interview to talk about General Sarge. WSLP-FM serves the Tri-lakes area of the Adirondacks, which includes, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake and Lake Placid. The area has a special connection to the Military as Whiteface Mountain has and continues to be a part of 10th Mountain Division training out of Fort Drum, New York. Also, the Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway is dedicated to Veterans of WWI and to all those who have served since.
I do appreciate Paul taking the time to interview me about General Sarge. The interview will air during the 8:00am ET hour spread over a few segments on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. If you’re in The Adirondacks you can listen to WSLP-FM at 93.3. Or, if you’re not in the area, you can listen live online via the WSLP-FM stream starting at 8:00am ET Tuesday, February 1st.
Once again, General Sarge, along with myself, Sandra and of course our son PVT. Benjamin Jeffrey say a special thanks to Paul and all those at WSLP-FM for your support!
Staying Army Strong!
