Nap Time – March 22, 2011
Who doesn’t like napping with a cuddly teddy bear? Absolutely no one right! Teddy bears are the best when it comes to nap time and apparently General Sarge figured I needed a nap today. As you can tell from the General’s fur, he’s a well loved bear and when Ben was younger, he took many naps with General Sarge.
Apparently General Sarge overheard us talking last night that I needed to get back into the habit of napping when I arrived home from work. Weekday mornings I’m up around 3:00am and heading to the radio station around 3:30am. So, as you can see, I have a very early start to the day. When I started doing the morning news run I always came home and had a quick nap. Just enough to energize me for the afternoon and into the evening.
But lately I’ve been missing my nap time!
Lots On The Go
Now you need to understand something. I haven’t been ignoring my nap time just for the sake of ignoring it. There’s just so much to do with General Sarge as he continues to grow in popularity. Of course adding the store was a big undertaking and now we’re working on another cool project for General Sarge too. (Be watching for details of that exciting news soon as we do a lot of behind the scenes work right now).
But, to say the least, I would arrive home from work, take Samson for a walk and then sit down in front of my computer. (Even Samson has an Army hat!) I would always say I was just checking email. However, as I “just checked my email” I would find myself getting pulled into a lot of other things. Then, before I knew it, suddenly the clock said 4:00pm or later and once again, no nap for me.
Last night we decided if I was going to keep up this pace, I needed to ignore the computer when I arrived home from work and take a quick nap. General Sarge was all ready today to remind me it was nap time. He even had my favorite blanket with him. So I obliged and took a quick nap. Honestly, it also reminded me of when Ben was much younger and he liked to nap with me too. Happy childhood memories as we now recognize the fact that he’s all grown up and in the Army.
Please Help Us Get To Ben’s Graduation
Graduation is rapidly approaching and don’t forget you can support us by buying a “General Sarge’s Family First Campaign” coffee package. All the proceeds from the sales of this coffee package, which contains five 1.5 oz packages of Devil Dog Brew flavored coffee and a signed General Sarge 4×6 picture go towards helping off-set travel costs to Ben’s graduation at the end of April.
Also please note, all of the proceeds from the sale of the “Families First Campaign” will always go to support military families off-set their expenses for graduation travel. It’s important that families attend the graduation ceremonies. But many times they can’t afford to go because of the expense.
So help out General Sarge in this worthy cause.
If you’d like to support financially in other ways, please feel free to contact me via email and we can talk about that too.
Staying Army Strong!
