Newarkfest Car Show Fun – June 11, 2011
Today was an extra special day for General Sarge. I’ve written about the fact that Ben loves my 1998 Mustang. As a matter of fact he’s told me many times when I decide to trade up, I don’t get rid of Stella because he wants to “inherit” her. Today as part of Newarkfest there was a car show along the Erie Canal. I’ve never done this before, but today I decided to enter Stella in the car show.
Of course General Sarge went along to make sure his human-owners car was protected. We had a great time! As you can see General Sarge was proudly displaying not only Stella, but also what’s under her hood.
We even took along some of General Sarge’s favorite pictures, some Army stickers and talked about the Families First Campaign too. General Sarge was a little rough on me as we didn’t have any brochures talking about the Families First Campaign. But, we are making plans to attend a few more car shows and we will be much more organized for the next one.
Jumping Behind The Wheel Of An Old Model T
There were a lot of really cool cars at the car show. Even some Mach 1 Mustangs too! General Sarge stopped and admired each car and had some pictures taken with some of his favorite cars. (The Mustang Mach 1 of course). But he was really thrilled when the owner of this 1926 Ford Model T Pickup Truck let him get behind the wheel!
When all was said and done, both General Sarge and I had a great time at the Newarkfest Car Show. We also want to say a special thank you to the great people at Legendary Auto for hosting the event. Mike Saless, the Sales Manager for Legendary Auto, was a great host making sure we were all taken care of.
Staying Army Strong!
