Renaissance Festival Here I Come! – August 13, 2011
Shhhhhh – Don’t make too much noise please. I snuck into my human-owners Dad’s home office so I could write something this morning. I’m so excited! I’m about ready to burst open at the seams here. Everyone else is still sleeping but I couldn’t stay asleep any longer I just had to get up!
Check out my new “uniform”. Do you like it? It’s called a Knight in Shining Armor uniform. Today I’m Sir General Sarge. I even have a cool Coat of Arms on my shield Do you see that? It’s an Army Coat of Arms.
I’m getting ready to step back in time to the mid 150o’s as my human-owners parents are taking me to the Sterling Renaissance Festival today. I know this is a festival that my human-owner PV2 Ben went to quite often with his parents and I hear they know a lot of people there. I’m sure I will have a great time! I’ve been looking at some old pictures and it looks like a lot of fun.
Supporting Make A Wish Foundation
This weekend at the Sterling Renaissance Festival is something called Renaissance Man Weekend. Now I’m not exactly sure what that big word Renaissance means but I think there will be lots of kids at the festival today. This weekend the festival is all about helping make dreams come true for children with life threatening illnesses. Area celebrities will compete in the Renaissance Man Challenge for Make a Wish this afternoon. One little boy named Kenny said his wish is to be a Jedi!
I can hardly wait to get to the festival!
Oops. I better be a little more quiet here. I think I might have just woke someone up. But that’s okay. I really want to get everyone else in the house moving here so we can all head out to the Renaissance Festival today. If you live nearby Sterling, New York where I do come on out to the festival this weekend. It will be a lot of fun and it’s supporting a great cause for kids today. And you know I love to encourage kids!
One more thing before I go. I think I also need to thank Hey Nunnie Nunnie for convincing my human-owners Dad to take me out to the festival. I had such a great time with them when they visited the radio station that they wanted to make sure I came out to have fun too. You can read about their visit here – Day 146: Hey Nunnie Nunnie!
Two paws up!
