Day 187: Military Child of the Week Salute

Military Child of the Week Salute – September 12, 2011

As we start a new work week it’s time for our Military Child of the Week Salute here at General Sarge HQ! Please let your military friends know about this salute and be sure to make nominations! The name of the child goes into a year end draw for an opportunity to win their very own General Sarge Military Build-A-Bear through the Gift-A-Bear Campaign.

Day 187 - Military Child of the Week Today not only are we saluting a military child – but we’re also saluting a daughter-father combination!

It’s our privilege and honor to introduce you to SGT Michael T. DiFiore and his daughter PFC Brittini M. DiFiore. I know SGT DiFiore is very proud of his daughter who is currently a Chaplains Assistant based out of Fort Dix, New Jersey. PFC DiFiore is also attending school in New York City and in the midst of re-classing to Civil Affairs just like her dad.

We first met SGT DiFiore at the Newark, New York Recruiting Station. SGT D. is currently assigned to the Station as a Recruiter. When both PV2 Ben and Ryan were in-processing for the Army we met SGT. D there. As a Reservist SGT DiFiore was also assigned to the Webster, New York Unit and served in Baghdad, Iraq in 2007-08 with the 401st Civil Affairs Battalion.

General Sarge gives a big “Two paws up” to PFC DiFiore for following in her fathers footsteps and we’re proud to salute you today!

Staying Army Strong!

    1. Hi Janet;

      SSG DiFiore is a wonderful man and he is very proud of his daughter. I’ve spent a lot of time with SSG D here at the Newark Recruiting Station.
