Checking On The Troops – November 5, 2011
It’s rather quiet around General Sarge HQ right now as we are receiving no communication from my human-owner PV2 Ben. He’s in the desert doing some training. That means we can have no communication from him. His last text came through to his Dad during the noon hour one day last week saying…-
“Turning phone off, heading into desert”.
Of course since I’m a General I do have some pull and today I decided I wanted to check out the troops.
Do you like my ride?
We took a drive and found this helicopter sitting outside the Lyons, New York VFW. Of course we just had to get out for some pictures.
While PV2 Ben’s Dad was snapping some pictures of me outside the helicopter one of the members of the VFW came along.
Inside The Chopper!
Retired Army officer Samuel Husner, who is the Senior Vice Commander of the Lyons VFW Memorial Post #5092 gave me a salute and then asked if I would like to get INSIDE the helicopter. I of course said yes! What teddy bear wouldn’t want to get inside a really cool helicopter right?
After checking out the view from the pilots seat I had to take a look at all the gauges and buttons on the instrument panel too. There’s a lot of them!
While I couldn’t really take off in this helicopter to find PV2 Ben I have to admit I really enjoyed getting inside. I also know PV2 Ben’s Dad enjoyed it too. I think it made him feel just a little bit closer to my human-owner today. He also gave me an extra hug when we finished taking pictures as well.
Two paws up!
