Special Events – November 19, 2011
I can’t believe how far we’ve come since my human owners Dad started taking pictures of me every day. When PV2 Ben shipped off for Basic Training in January of this year his Dad and I started having fun taking pictures. Now look at us! My handler set up my very own website and we’re “Comforting military families one furry friend at a time” too!
Not only are we deploying teddy bears from General Sarge but we’re also now being invited to special events too.
On Veterans Day we were invited to a special Veterans’ Day Salute hosted by One Soldier At A Time in Rochester, New York. We had a wonderful time at the event that was held at Calvary Chapel of Rochester.
We now have a really cool set up too. Do you like it?
Two Paws Up To All Our Friends
There are so many people to thank for all their help and encouragement along the way. There are so many details to pay attention to and so many fun things we want to do. Sometimes it’s hard to keep it all straight.
One person we want to say a special thank you to is PFC Tracy Bonzo. This is a special picture and one of my favorites. We took it at the Veterans’ Day Salute and Tracy was looking very official in her ACU’s just like me.
I know Tracy is a big help to my human owners Dad. She writes up all the special Deployment Orders for us here when we deploy a teddy bear to one of our great military children we salute on a weekly basis.
Tracy has also worked hard on making a Military Child of the Week Nomination form for us as we prepare to head to San Deigo the first weekend of December. I’m really excited about our trip to the big Operation Holiday Bonanza hosted by Celebrate the Military Child. There are going to be lots of military kids there and I can hardly wait to give as many of them hugs as I can! Military children are very special to me and we love encouraging them here at General Sarge HQ.
There’s lots going on and we are having so much fun! Once again thanks to everyone who encourages us along the way. We couldn’t do this without you.
Two paws up!
