Rosh Hashanah runs from September 9 to the 11th this year. While I’m always aware of the general timetable for Rosh Hashanah, this year in particular really grabbed my attention. Rosh Hashanah signifies a time on the Jewish calendar for the nation to wake up as the New Year begins. The celebration is marked with the blowing of the shofar as a sign of calling the people to wake up, or awaken to the new things God plans to do in the New Year. About five years ago the Lord started stirring in my spirit that the year 5779, or 2019 on the Gregorian calendar, would signify a spiritual awakening for His people. As we enter the New Year in 2019, I will expand more on what I sense the Lord saying for the year 2019.
For now, I want to release what I sense the Lord saying in connection with Rosh Hashanah…
Rosh Hashanah 2018 – Sept 9-11
While preparing a sermon series entitled Advancing the Kingdom last month I made note of when Rosh Hashanah takes place this year. As soon as I looked at the way I wrote the date – Sept 9-11 – to use the words of Ezekiel, my spirit was arrested by the Lord as He said…
“I am redeeming 9-11. I am calling My sleeper cells to awake as the King of Glory is about to enter in. The date 9-11 will no longer be remembered for terror, but it will be remembered as the day My Army of Saints arose from their slumber to advance My Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Make way for a spiritual awakening like the world has never seen before”.
As we returned from our ministry time during the month of August, I shared the Redeeming 9-11 word with our prayer group. One of our intercessors instantly started praying into the word as she also told us of a dream she had just a few weeks before. In the dream she was “running around a group of sleeping people – whom she knew were believers – encouraging them to wake up!”
We are entering into a Year of Hope and Birthing for Completion as we head into a time of Spiritual Awakening. Bishop Bill Hamon from Christian International refers to this as the Third Reformation of God. Not only is God calling His people to awake, but He is declaring a spiritual awakening is on the horizon. God is always about restoration and redemption and His plan is to redeem the phrase 9-11. I clearly remember where I was the day of the attacks on New York City on September 11, 2001. But now God is saying He plans to use 9-11 in a new way. As the shofar sounds entering the year 5779, He is calling His army – His sleeper cells – to awake from their slumber. As soon as I wrote the above word down on August 12th, I instantly turned to a passage of Scripture our prayer team has been declaring and praying for approximately the past six months. God always backs up the prophetic word with His Word.
“Wake up you sleepy head city! Wake up you sleepy head people! The King of Glory is about to enter in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord invincible in battle. Wake up you sleepy head city! Wake up you sleepy head people! The King of Glory is about to enter in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies, He is the King of Glory!”
Psalm 24:7-9 – The Message/New Living Translation
God is definitely up to something as He calls His Army to Arise. Not only is God redeeming 9-11, but He is preparing to equip His army with a molding together of the Fruit of the Spirit with the Gifts of the Spirit. Paul tells us, “God has revealed to us His mysterious will regarding Christ – which is to fulfill His own good plan” (Ephesians 1:9 NLT). The Message translation reads, “He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in Him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth” (Ephesians 1:9-10). God is unfolding His amazing plan right before our very eyes.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the church today.
