Looking Out My Window
In the midst of all that’s taking place around us, it’s very important to remember a key phrase for 2020 – A Year of Restoration of Promises. No matter what’s going on, now more than ever, I want to encourage you to remember – It’s still about restoration. God clearly said as we entered the New Year, His plan was one of restoration and alignment. The news declares something totally different. But God declares, “I’ve got this. Trust in Me and this too shall pass.”
A Restorational Process
All too often we celebrate the prophetic word, without really understanding that for every prophetic word to come to fulfillment, we must go through some kind of a process. The bumps and bruises we have going into the process, the more time it might take for the restoration to come to completion. God said this is a year of Restoration of Promises as well as A Year of Alignment. In order to come into proper alignment with Him so we will receive the restoration of promises for our life, the more we often have to go through.
As believers now more than ever we need to hold onto some key Scriptures through this current restorational process.
- “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
- “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
- “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
I am not saying God sent the virus as judgement. As a matter of fact, I believe the total opposite. God is always a God of restoration. He is always looking for us to make our way through any situation, following after Him and developing a deeper relationship with Him.
God’s Perfect Vision: 2 Chronicles 20:20
Much was written and declared heading into this year about God’s Perfect Vision. While many started declaring this word heading into December in preparation for 2020, I actually started writing about it in April of last year in a Prophetic Pondering entitled God’s 20/20 Vision. Throughout the year I made a number of references to what I sensed the Lord stirring for the New Year.
Once again I want to encourage you to hold onto the promises of God that 2020 is a Year of Restoration!
The key to making our way through all that’s going on right now, is in holding onto the right key. I encourage you to step back from the noise of the news and the rhetoric of the day, and hold “fast and hold tight” to the word declared concerning 2020.
“They rose early in the morning… Jehoshaphat stood and said… ‘Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper” (2 Chronicles 20:20 AMPC).
If you declared those words heading into 2020, now more than ever remind the enemy that he is a liar and declare once again the declaration for 2020 as we find ourselves in the month of April.
A New Era Brings A New Thing
We truly are in a New Era. Again, many words came forth at the beginning of this year about the New Era. Many cheered the arrival of the New Era. However, many want to hold onto the characteristics of the Old Era, while moving into the New Era. This simply won’t do. A New Era brings with it new characteristics. While I believe what others are saying about this being the Roaring 20’s, I also firmly believe we cannot look at the characteristics of the Roaring 20’s from the 1920’s. The Roaring 20’s of this New Era brings with it a new sound which I wrote about in May of last year in a Prophetic Pondering entitled A Roaring Wind.
Yes, God is doing a new thing in our midst. Yes the words of Isaiah 43:19 are true: “See I am about to do something new” (NLT). But in order to move into the New Era and the new thing God wants to do in our midst, we must remember the words which go before Isaiah 43:19…
“But forget all that… it is nothing compared to what I am going to do” (Isaiah 43:18).
We started the shift into the New Era last year on the Day of Pentecost. Again, I pondered the shift last June in a Prophetic Pondering simply entitled A New Era.
The Passing of A Virus
Once again, I want to encourage you to step back from the 24 hour news cycle bombarding us with words of how bad life is right now. Instead, tune into what God is saying. I’m not saying we should ignore the advice of leaders encouraging what’s become known as social distancing and not to gather in large groups. We must be discerning, we must be wise, and we must honor those in leadership. However, I am encouraging you to hold onto the word of the Lord and know “this too shall pass”.
Passover 2020 is a key season for believers. Watch and see what the Lord has planned for the Day of Pentecost 2020.
