Over the past week I’ve received a number of questions about the US Election. One thing to keep in mind is this, it’s not about the election, it’s about what God has planned for a nation. One question that keeps surfacing revolves around what we would call “missing it”. Many prophetic voices declared, and are still declaring, a President Trump landslide.
“As it stands now”, that is simply not the case.
What’s Going on Here?Do we automatically declare them as false prophets and stone them? Absolutely not! I believe God is “dropping His plumb line on Prophets and the prophetic”.
About two years ago the Lord stirred in my spirit; “I am preparing to bring My plumb line into the prophetic. The plumb line will not be measuring alignment. Instead it is a plumb line measuring the depth of the Holy Spirit in the lives of those who say they are My Prophets. Many will be found wanting”. A rather harsh word, and one I’ve been sitting on for quite some time.
As we pray through these times we must be careful not to “throw stones” calling people false prophets. We must always press into Him for His thoughts. So, what do I think is going on in our midst? I believe we are seeing the initial move of God in His plan to “refine the prophetic”.
How did so many “miss it”? (And this really brings me to the main point). Many the church hold up as prophets today might better be referred to as “dreamers of dreams”.
In her book The Prophets Handbook, Apostle Paula A. Price writes;
“Historically this method of revelatory communication has been deemed the most unreliable form of spiritual reception. Prophetic dreams mix too easily with the dreamer’s emotions, personality, daily events, and life experiences, and can contaminate the message’s purity.”
Many words are still swirling and I’m sure in the economy of God, many “dreamers of dreams” are still trying to sort out what to do next. Whatever the case might be, one thing is for sure, God has a plan in all of this. As we keep our eyes on Him, we will move forward in peace and grace.
Keep encouraged in the journey and keep seeking Him.
