Jesus tells us to “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). This speaks of a single-mindedness, placing God at the center of everything we do. While this is a noble pursuit, reality is, through out any given day, many things grab our attention, taking our focus off of God.
“Wisdom shouts in the streets… saying come and listen to My counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.” Oh how we want wisdom. When we “seek first the Kingdom of God ” we discover “wise counsel.” But here’s the rub. Many times we hear wisdom calling to us, but our lives are so full of activities, we don’t spend enough time “listening” to the counsel of the Holy Spirit.
How do we seek God’s Kingdom? By also spending time listening to His wise counsel and allowing the counsel to transform our lives.
