Peter encourages us to “always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that we have, but do so with gentleness and kindness” (1 Peter 3:15). Now more than ever, people are searching for answers, and ultimately searching for hope. In the midst of a chaotic world, we truly do have the answer not only for finding hope, but also finding joy.
“Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding” (Proverbs 3:13).
Wisdom Leading Joy
Throughout Proverbs we’re encouraged to find wisdom. The Hebrew word for wisdom can also be translated, technical skill, experience, special skill or special ability. We also refer to the wisdom of Proverbs as Lady Wisdom, connecting this wisdom with the Holy Spirit.
We could translate our Proverbs verse today as, “Joyful is the person who finds the fullness and the power of the Holy Spirit. For with the infilling of the Holy Spirit, comes understanding, wisdom and knowledge.”
As we journey through life, walking with Jesus, may we also find the joy of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
